ワールドユースデーは世界最大の国際的な若者を動員したものだと証明されました。 WYDは オリンピックやラグビーのワールドカップを越える規模の、国際的な若者のイベントです。(訳注：ラグビーはオーストラリアでは国民的スポーツです。)
2005年、 ドイツのケルンで行われたWYDには120万以上の人が閉会ミサに参加しました。そして何千人もの国際的ジャーナリストのほかに200もの国々から巡礼者を集めました。 またWYD08は私たちの教皇、ベネディクト16世の初めてのオーストラリア訪問です。
ＷＹＤ０８を企画運営していく上でたいへん重要な側面は、ＷＹＤ０８が巡礼者にとって成功となることを確実にするために私たちが必要とする物品、サービス、資財の調達です。 この先数ヶ月にわたり、私たちは2008年シドニーでのWYDに ビジネスパートナー（スポンサー）として、または供給者として貢献できると感じている組織とのパートナーシップを設けるために、努力をします。

Business Partners
World Youth Day has proven to be the largest single, international
mobilisation of young people the world has ever seen. In size and scale
WYD is a major international youth event that, on major celebration
days, far exceeds an Olympic Games or Rugby World Cup for the host city.
In Cologne, Germany, host of the last international WYD in 2005, over
1.2 million people attended the Final Mass. WYD attracts pilgrims from
some 200 nations (along with thousands of international journalists).
WYD08 will also be recognised as the inaugural visit to Australia by
the new pontiff, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
A very important aspect of organising WYD08 is the procurement of goods,
services and materials we will need to ensure WYD08 is a success for
the pilgrims.
Over the coming months we are keen to establish partnerships with organisations
who feel they can make a contribution to WYD in Sydney 2008, either
as a business partner (sponsor) or as a supplier.
